Speaker: Sara Barr
Sara Barr and her husband, Tom, have been foster parents for nearly two years and are parents of twin daughters, Rachel and Emily. Their son, Eric, was born prematurely and died as an infant in 2006. They are currently fostering a year-old girl. Sara is enjoying her favorite job as a stay-at-home mom, after deciding to pursue a license to provide foster care to young children.
Most of her career has been spent in marketing communications and consumer education in the healthcare industry. In addition to being a proud fundraiser for the March of Dimes, she is an active volunteer for Girl Scouts and the local, state, and national organizations of parents of multiple birth children. She serves as a feature writer and copy editor for a national magazine to families of twins and volunteers as a blogger for Care2Foster, a non-profit organization.
Sara is passionate about recruiting new foster parents using her blog to increase public awareness about foster care issues in South Carolina.
