The Flower Communion is our annual ritual celebrating “beauty, human uniqueness, diversity, and community”.(UUA.org) For our “new normal”, we shall all bring a virtual flower, or submit a picture of one to Rev. Robinson in time for it to be included in the service (see News/Current News tab for additional information).
Politicos on the Left and Right have used the buzz words abundance and scarcity for decades to justify their government policies and practices. But too few have ever paid enough attention to Earth’s all-encompassing ecology—and our UU Seventh Principle, “Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.”
While many see The Handmaid’s Tale as an instruction manual on how to institute a repressive regime, it also provides a road map for resisting such forms of government. We’ll explore the art of fruitful resistance.
