Pink Paradise: How Barbie Can Renew Our Hope for the Future

In the Barbie movie, Barbie’s realization of the possibility of death begins her journey away from her pink paradise into the egoic world of fear and separation. Her lost paradise, though, is nothing new, and if the Hindus are right, it’s part of a cycle of ages (or Yugas) that inevitably leads us back to that paradise. We’re currently on an upward trajectory toward higher consciousness, which means, right now, we have a vital role to play in the realization of ultimate peace, love, and justice.

Free to Be Me and You

June is Pride Month. It’s a month to recognize and accept this diverse community that is characterized by a shared culture, social movements, and a focus on individuality. An introductory discussion for the month begins with recognizing how people are different and why that’s okay. Each of us is born in a different time and place and has a different heredity and environment. The product of the choices made by those factors makes us who we are: Free to be you and me.
