The Muslim New Year begins on August 9th. For many Muslims, this holiday commemorates the event of Mohammed and his followers leaving the persecution they were experiencing in Mecca in search of a free and safe space to live and practice their spirituality. We will join the celebration by examining ways we can create or maintain free and safe spaces to live our lives, practice our spirituality, and search for truth and meaning.
