We are in the 3rd Year of our Term

Committee Members include: Cheryl Soehl, Jane Lawther, Ceren Farr, Joan Watterson, Jean Capalbo (member and Board Rep), Jane Gillespie, John Logue, Chuck and Bud Ashley, Sandy Chubon, Mary and Morgan Maclachlan, and Sandra Merritt.

FACTORS THAT FACILITATED OR IMPEDED OUR WORK:

Personal illness of the committee members sometimes impeded our work. Zoom capability allowed us to meet regularly.
Our special inititaves are ongoing: to serve the congregants and friends with cards, conversation, calls, food, rides, and companionship.
Future dreams or long range plans include defining our role in bereavement, finding chair(s) to replace current chairs, identifying needs of folks that committee can provide so no one is left out.
The constraints on our plans are the physical ability of our team members, identifying our boundaries, and members not knowing what we do and how to contact us.

For much of our married life, we were without a church home, but felt our lives would be enriched if we could find a place where we were part of something greater than ourselves. The UUCC became that place. There, we’ve made great friends, enjoyed meaningful fellowship and found a sense of peace. It’s just what we were looking for.

We were looking for a church where we felt accepted both intellectually and spiritually, a place where all people and religions were regarded equally without condemnation. Our search began at UUCC six years ago and we never had to look any further. We found our place here with a community of like-minded people and it became our second home, our second family.
