Knowing and Being Known

Using framework for intimacy from Parker Palmer, we will explore the work of knowing and being known in community. Staying connected has become trendy in our culture, especially during this pandemic, and it’s important. Authentic community calls us to deeper levels of intimacy than just staying connected. After the virtual worship service, we will use breakout rooms for time of sharing, listening, risking vulnerability, and feeling seen and heard.

Free to Be Me and You

June is Pride Month. It’s a month to recognize and accept this diverse community that is characterized by a shared culture, social movements, and a focus on individuality. An introductory discussion for the month begins with recognizing how people are different and why that’s okay. Each of us is born in a different time and place and has a different heredity and environment. The product of the choices made by those factors makes us who we are: Free to be you and me.
