Carolyn McDade’s hymn “Spirit of Life” seems to have become a virtual theme song for UU’s. But what is the “Spirit of Life?” Morgan has puzzled over this through the prism of the anthropological study of religion. He has decided that for him the spirit of life is an expression of communitas, a process for the creation of collective joy in a community.
