The second UU principle and purpose invites us to justice, equity, and compassion in human relations. We can often get self-protective and, individualistic, and politically divided. Leaving room for compassion in our lives not only creates a healthier culture, but can also help us live healthier lives.

Politicos on the Left and Right have used the buzz words abundance and scarcity for decades to justify their government policies and practices. But too few have ever paid enough attention to Earth’s all-encompassing ecology—and our UU Seventh Principle, “Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.”
While many see The Handmaid’s Tale as an instruction manual on how to institute a repressive regime, it also provides a road map for resisting such forms of government. We’ll explore the art of fruitful resistance.
