Coming on Sat Mar 14, 2026: Learn and practice Zen with Associate Zen teacher Rev. Meredith Garmon, Saturdays, 10:00-11:30am, in person in the Library at UUCC (2701 Heyward St., Columbia, SC) and on Zoom. Regular Zen practice makes you part of a spiritual movement to bring more wisdom and compassion to our one Earth. No previous meditation experience necessary. Here’s your chance to step onto this rich and fulfilling path! No fee. Donations gratefully accepted.
Rev. Dr. Steven Meredith Hotetsu Garmon, a former philosophy professor, a Buddhist practitioner since 2001, and a Unitarian Universalist minister since 2004 (now retired), is the founder and leader of One Earth Zen, which offers authentic Zen practice with an ecospiritual orientation. Before starting One Earth Zen, Meredith had established and led Zen practice groups since 2002: Border Zen Center in El Paso, TX, Dancing Crane Zen Center in Gainesville, FL, and Boundless Way Zen of Westchester in White Plains, NY.
