	CANstruction Collection – Now through January 25 Date: 12/23/2025 – 01/10/2026 Time: 6:00 pm – 1:15 pm CANstruction is back!!! CAN you imagine that on January 25, our clever children and youth will CONSTRUCT wondrous creations from the CANS we all contribute to the Harvest Hope Food Bank donation area by the windows in the Social Hall??!! Yes, we collect throughout the year, but from now until January 25 our goal is to stockpile at least 250 CANstruction materials (nonperishables: CANS, rice, pasta, peanut butter..no glass containers or expired food please). In November, Harvest Hope let us know that where they usually serve 200 families a day in their emergency food pantry in Columbia, that number doubled when Snap ended! Additionally, they served 600 families on their senior day in ONE DAY late that month!! After service on January 25, you CAN cast your vote for the classroom with the most creative CANstruction. CAN you spare a CAN every week from now until January 25 for students’ creative CANstruction and, more importantly, for needy people in the Columbia area?

	Lock In and Chocolate Auction Date: 02/07/2026 – 02/08/2026 Time: 6:00 pm – 1:00 pm Participate in the Chocolate Baking and the Lock-In on Saturday, February 7, 6:00pm through Sunday, February 8… plus the Sale of Baked Goods after Sunday Service! All youth ages 10+ are welcome on Saturday, February 7 to the chocolate baking and lock-in!! This is a longtime favorite event for everyone involved, and CYRE is thrilled to be able to provide this activity for the teens doing their Boston Heritage volunteer hours at the Chocolate Auction. Bring a sweet tooth and good pillow/sleeping bag/air mattress. We will need two chaperones for each of two shifts: 6:00 p.m.-10:30 p.m., 10:30 p.m.-8:30 a.m. Please contact Nancie Shillington-Pérez at or 803-553-2280 to RSVP for your youth or as a chaperone.
