Families Helping Families To Bring Christmas Joy

For the next three Sundays (Nov. 16–Dec. 7) the Social Action Committee will distribute “ornaments” and collect gifts for our “adopted families” participating in Families Helping Families. You will find the Christmas tree in the Social Hall. This year, we have adopted two families (one with three children and the other with four children, two of whom are autistic), a senior citizen, and an adult with disabilities. Families Helping Families is a program of the central midlands Palmetto Project and is sponsored by WIS News 10.

Knit or Knot

Do you knit or have other needle-craft you would like to share? If so, you are invited to join us for our weekly Knit or Knot meetings on Tuesdays at 3:00 p.m. in Room 10.

Exploring Spirituality Group

2nd and 4th Wednesday, 7-8:30pm, Library

Come with questions rather than answers.  It will be both faith-friendly and no-faith friendly. All are invited to join us with open minds and hearts. We only ask that participants come with a spirit of curiosity, wisdom, and compassion….and sense of humor too. UUCC THANKSGIVING DINNER

As an annual tradition that goes back many years, the UUCC will be hosting another Thanksgiving Day potluck gathering. We encourage everyone to join us and bring your family and friends. On this day, we will celebrate peace and gratefulness for all, including indigenous people, immigrants, and all oppressed people. We are an LGBTQ Welcoming Community.

Trauma Survivor Support Group

Begins Tuesday, September 2nd at 7pm and continues on the the first Tuesday of each month going forward. Meets in the library. This is not therapy. This is holding a safe space for listening and sharing, with compassion. Trauma is broadly inclusive (e.g., people shunned by family or friends for gender or ideology, survivors of parental or domestic abuse, people suffering from or recovering from alcohol or drug addiction, people suffering from PTSD, and more.) Let’s Sing! Our choir, Chalice Voices, welcomes teen and adult singers of all experience levels. Here’s what’s coming up! Sunday September14: rehearse in sanctuary 9:30-10:30 AM and sing in service. Rehearsals will continue every other Sunday for the fall season:
