Nestled atop the Blue Ridge Mountains in Highlands, North Carolina, The Mountain Retreat & Learning Center offers a serene and inspiring setting for the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Columbia’s annual retreat. Each October, members and friends come together in this ecologically conscious sanctuary to deepen connections, reflect on shared values, and rejuvenate amidst the natural beauty of the mountaintop. With panoramic views, communal activities, and opportunities for spiritual growth, The Mountain provides a unique space for our congregation to strengthen bonds and embrace the interconnectedness of all life.
The Mountain is hiring! The Mountain has opportunities for people who would love to live and work at The Mountain: Summer camp counselors and leaders, kitchen staff, maintenance, development associate, capital campaign manager, and farm staff. Applications open. https://www.themountainrlc.org/jobs
Registration is open for 2025 Summer Camp, with lots of options for kids as well as Intergenerational Camp and Adult Farm Camp. Some sessions of Summer Camp are starting to sell out, so if you are planning on attending summer camp please register today. As of last week the following camps still had openings:
- Beginner camp, ages 6-8
- Elementary camp, ages 9-11
- Outdoor Skills & Adventure, June 11-24, ages 15-17
- Intermediate Farm Camp, June 11-17 or July 16-22, ages 12-14
- Senior Farm Camp, June 25-July 8, ages 15-17
