Jonathan and his wife, Meg, have been coming to the UUCC since they moved to Columbia in 2014. As a third-generation public school teacher who, at the time, was staying home with baby Cal and two-year-old Louisa, Jonathan was quickly swept into volunteering with the CYRE program where he has since worked with children and youth of all ages and come to deeply value the ways this community serves his family. Jonathan is currently the Multilingual Learner Program Consultant for Richland District One where he collaborates with teachers and administration to ensure that children and families who speak a language other than English at home receive equitable services in our schools. 10 years with the UUCC, Cal and Louisa are in middle and high school, and Jonathan still actively volunteers with CYRE as well as his children’s other various activities including Scouting America (formerly the Boy Scouts).
