Dr Todd Shaw, Interim Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Social Sciences in the College of Arts and Sciences at the USC and is a Distinguished Associate Professor of Political Science and African-American Studies. He researches and teaches broadly in the areas of African American politics, urban politics and public policy, as well as citizen activism and social movements.
The Prescience of Octavia Butler. In this talk he will discuss how African-American science fiction writer and Afrofuturist Octavia Butler provided prescient insights about the political social and economic conflicts we are currently experiencing in the United States and in the global community.
