Speaker: Deborah DePaoli

Deborah DePaoli is the Palmetto Engagement and Policy Director with the Institute for Child Success, where she informs ICS’s policy and research portfolio, thereby boosting our direct family engagement. She also leads the mission of our South Carolina Early Childhood Common Agenda work and other policy initiatives.

Deborah is the former South Carolina State Manager for the Save the Children Action Network where she recruited and equipped grassroots volunteer advocates across South Carolina. In previous positions, she worked with the state office of South Carolina First Steps as a Regional Coordinator, coaching 4K teachers for effectiveness in curriculum and instruction. She has taught Spanish in a dual-language immersion program, developing curriculum/procedures/instruction for a new magnet program in Richland County, and she worked in California with migrant laborers and their families to advance student achievement and child wellbeing.

Deborah lives in Columbia, where she alternately delights in and struggles with raising two teenagers.
