Speaker: Columbia Peace Pole Initiative

The Columbia Peace Pole Initiative is an outgrowth of the interfaith Hiroshima Vigil/Remembrance Committee which, since 1991, has held vigils at various locations on the anniversary of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima on August 6, 1945. In 2016, a simple Peace Pole was planted at the Columbia Friends Meeting (Quakers) meetinghouse and the Hiroshima Vigil Committee then formed The Columbia Peace Pole Initiative.
